Nuclear reactor moderated and cooled with water as the primary medium, in particular nuclear boiling-water heating reactor according to the natural circulation principle, with a reactor pressure vessel (R), a reactor core positioned in the reactor pressure vessel (R), and an internal first heat-exchanger system (WT1) located in an annulus (10) above the core at a distance from it; the liquid primary medium (m1) flows around the bundle of the said system (WT1), and a secondary medium flows through it. The first heat-exchanger system is connected to an intermediate loop containing a second heat-exchanger system (WT2), for the purpose of generating heat in an external heating network. A control-rod-redundant system for limiting reactivity peaks is provided by having the closure head (r2) of the reactor pressure vessel (R) designed as the support of an integrated annular tank system (T) for a poison solution to be injected into the primary medium (m1). The tank system (T) is installed within an annular region in the vicinity of the inner periphery of the pressure vessel closure head (r2). The bottom (15) of the tank system (T) bears the valve seat (16) of at least one injection valve (EV), whose valve lifter (17), that normally blocks the valve seat, runs up through sealed penetrations of the tank system (T) and the centre disk (r21) of the pressure vessel's (R) closure head, and is seated in a valve housing (18) mounted on the outside of the closure head (r2).
