In a housing (1; 2), which contains a rotary piston compressor and a rotary piston engine, groups each of three cylinder chambers (3-5, 6-8; 20-22, 23-25) are formed, overlapping one another in pairs, and each with a shaft (18, 19; 32, 33) passing through it. Three rotary pistons (12-14, 15-17; 26-28, 29-31), of which the middle rotary piston is in each case offset by 180 DEG in relation to the two outer rotary pistons, are fixed on each of the shafts (18, 19; 32, 33). Sealing sleeves (37, 38) are axially supported side by side in recesses of the rotary pistons (12-14, 15-17; 26-28, 29-31) in such a way that two rotary pistons fixed on the opposing shaft and turned by 180 DEG counter to one another are capable of rolling on each sealing sleeve, forming a seal. The result of this is that the sealing sleeves (37, 38) in operation constantly rotate at the same circumferential speed as the rotary pistons (12-14, 15-17; 26-28, 29-31). The wear on the circumferential surfaces of the sealing sleeves (37, 38) and rotary pistons (12-14, 15-17; 26-28, 29-31) rolling on one another is thereby kept to a minimum. <IMAGE>
