The invention relates to a punching machine with a plurality of tools which are arranged on a turret and can each be moved under the ram drive. In order to increase the capacity of the continuously available tools and in order to make a significant reduction in program set-up times and tool set-up times, the punch holders (1) and die holders are driven in rotation together with the ram guide, about the vertical centre line of the latter. A plurality of punches (18) are arranged at uniform intervals in each tool so that each rotary indexing motion brings one punch into the zero position at the front side of the tool. An activating plate (2) between the punch holder (1) and the chuck (3) contains openings for the passage of all the punches (18) with the exception of the punch situated in the zero position and is held fast relative to the rotary motions of the tool but can be moved vertically together with the punch holder (1) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE> |
