<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently melt metal chips independently of place of installation, by introducing metal chips accompanied by a hot blast into a separating device so as to separate impure gas, by mixing the metal chips into a molten metal in a melting furnace, and by burning the impure gas. CONSTITUTION:The metal chips continuously discharged downward by fixed quantities from a storage hopper 1 by means of a discharger 2 are fed to a sieve 4 by a conveyor 3 to undergo removal of large-sized foreign matters, and then charged into a gas transportation equipment 6 via a funnel chuter 5, into which a hot blast is supplied from a hot blast generator 7 equipped with a fuel feeding device 8, an air blower, etc. The above metal chips are accompanied by this hot blast, which is introduced into a cyclone 12 via a pipe 13. While in the above transfer pipe 13, moisture, oil, etc., adhering to the metal chips are evaporated and vaporized. In the above cyclone 12, the metal chips are separated from formed impure gas, and the metal chips are mixed into the molten metal 15 in the melting furnace via a chuter 14 to undergo recovery by melting and, on the other hand, the above-mentioned gas is introduced via a pipe 17 into a gas combustion space 16, where it is burnt and discarded.</p> |
