PURPOSE:To prevent breaking of a diode during failure in ignition, by a method wherein, in a device in which high-tension rectifying diodes having polarities, of which directions are respectively changed, are connected between an ignition coil and an ignition plug, the diodes are located in the vicinity of the ignition plug and are connected to their respective insulating electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A device is constituted such that an a.c. high voltage, generated at the secondary winding 2 of an ignition coil having a primary winding 1 and the secondary winding 2, is rectified according to its polarity by high-tension rectifying diodes 21 and 22 to distribute the voltage to ignition plugs 31 and 32. In the device, the diodes 21 and 22 are located in the vicinity of the insulating electrode sides of the ignition plugs 31 and 32, respectively, and are connected to their respective insulating electrodes. Namely, the diode 21 (similarly regarding 22) is interposed between a center shaft 34, having its forward end serving as a center electrode 33 of the ignition plug 31, and a terminal 35 to cover the outside with an insulating material 36. This permits shortening of wiring between the diodes 21, 22 and the ignition plugs 31, 32 and enables reduction of the capacity component of the d.c. circuit side, resulting in the possibility to achieve a desired purpose. |
