PURPOSE:To realize a horizontal deflection preventive device for work rolls having a good maintenance characteristic with simple constitution by disposing divided support rollers to approximately the entire length of the work rolls so as to make direct contact therewith without intervening intermediate rolls therebetween. CONSTITUTION:The divided support roller units which support the barrel part of the rolls 4 in a horizontal direction are provided in a housing 1 of a multi- stage rolling mill disposed with back up rolls 2, intermediate rolls 3 and work rolls 4 above and below. The support roller units are alternately fitted with the support rollers 5 and bearings to shafts 7 and support the bearings in support roller supporting blocks 9. The support roller units are so disposed that the divided support rollers 5 contact approximately the entire length of the work rolls 4. The horizontal deflection preventive device for the work rolls having the good maintenance characteristic is thereby realized with the simple constitution. |
