PURPOSE:To cool uniformly a round billet and to prevent the longitudinal crack and flaw to be generated on the surface by constituting a titled header pipe of annular outside and inside header pipes which are fixed around the horizontally moving round billet concentrically therewith and the connecting pipes connecting these header pipes diagonally toward the tangential direction thereof and providing ejecting holes for cooling water to the inside header pipe. CONSTITUTION:A header pipe for a billet cooler of a continuous casting machine for a round billet is constituted of an annular outside header pipe 3 and inside header pipe 4 which are fixed around a horizontally moving round billet 1 concentrically therewith and, for example, four pieces of connecting pipes 5 connecting both header pipes. The respective pipes 5 are inclined in the tangential direction of the pipe 4 from the pipe 3 in connecting the header pipes. For example, six pieces of ejecting holes 4' for cooling water are formed to the pipe 4 with an inclination at a prescribed angle theta toward the diagonal direction of the pipes 5. |
