The process comprises mixing of paste-form sludge with cement produced in the reaction of the first component of tricalcium aluminate cement, with hydration and onset of trapping of the contaminants in the sludge. The bi- or tricalcium silicates decompose, releasing calcium hydrate and hydrated silicates. - The resulting metal hydroxides and the gels based on silicates, and the aluminates, all swell to give ''welding together'' of the material. Liquid silicates are then added, to accelerate solidification.
