Method for repairing warp breaks on weaving machines, in which the broken warp thread 3 is detected by a fallen drop wire 4A, with the characteristic that this method consists essentially of: drawing a new thread 9 from a separate supply 7 and leading it between the warp stop motion 1 and the harnesses 2; threading on one hand the new thread 9 through the fallen drop wire 4A by means of a rethreading mechanism 10; and threading on the other hand the thread 9 through the heddle 5 corresponding to the broken warp end 3.
