Folding press for sheet material - has frame with die supports on beams having pivotal guide arms

The press for bending sheets has a frame (1), a holder beam and a movable top beam (4). The beams carry a die (7) with a U-shaped groove and a cooperating stamp (5). On both sides of the bottom beam is at least one guide bar (9) assembly mounted on the bottom beam via a carrier. Each has a guide arm (11) which is in rest position, horizontal. The arms narrow toward the mould for supporting the workpiece. A linkage supports each guide arm for pivotal movement w.r.t. its carrier.
