<p>A method which uses a programmable apparatus for cutting loom-woven fabric rolled up as a supply roll or piece which includes a fabric extender (stretcher) which unrolls fabric from the supply roll and carries it onto a cutting table when the extender moves in relation to the table. A vibrating member carried by the fabric extender and over which the unrolled fabric has to pass communicates vibration to a part of the fabric which is extended across the width of the fabric in order to relieve the residual forces inside the fabric as it is being extended over the surface of the table. The extended fabric is immediately cut by a rotary cutting wheel which moves, in cutting application, with the fabric in response to control signals received from a programmable controller.</p> |
