A container filled with combustible fluid or wax has a wick extending from the upper end through a guide tube, and can be inserted into a cylindrical pipe to form a candle-like illuminator. The container is an aerosol spray canister with a valve disc and flange at the top to whichis fixed a slightly concave transparent or translucent plastic cover disc. - One or more small openings penetrating the container are located in the area of the guide tube or upper end, and the tube is enclosed by a removable cap which fits tightly over the extension. The openings are pref. formed by punch marks along the guide tube and form inward indentations which hold the wick firmly in the tube.
