PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the quickening of response to processing in a client and maintenance when data base update processing is abnormally ended. SOLUTION: In a client PC 10, task request data are transmitted to a server 20. In the server 20, an on-line client control program 22 stores the task request data in an information saving file 26, and starts a data base update control program 23, and notifies the client PC 10 of the end of processing through a communication control program 21. Thus, it is possible for the client PC 10 to accept the next task request data. On the other hand, the data base update control program 23 starts a data base update processing program 24 so that data base update processing can be successively carried out. When even one data base update processing is abnormally ended, the data base update control program 23 ends the processing, and a restoring program 25 performs restoration processing by automatically performing the unprocessed data base update processing according to the contents of the information saving file 26.
