<p>A method of treating a body of water, for example a swimming pool, a spa bath or a hot-tub, comprises adding to the water a liquid component and an oxidising component. The liquid component comprises, added separately or mixed together, a polymeric cationic quaternary ammonium compound, a sequestering agent and a copper salt. The invention also includes a product for use in the foregoing process, which comprises the above-described liquid component in its admixed form and the oxidising component in tablet form. Specific examples of suitable such components are given.</p> |
