A rowing machine, in particular a rowing machine for fitting on a windsurf board, comprises a frame 1, a fixed seat 7 secured to the frame 1, and a foot support unit 2 which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the frame 1 in relation to the seat 7, and also foot rests 6. The foot support unit is provided with removable rowlocks for oars. The disadvantage of known rowing machines of this type is that they can only be used during periods when it is possible to row outdoors. The object of the invention is to eliminate this disadvantage and to make available a rowing machine which can also be used as an independent rowing apparatus. This is achieved by the fact that the rowing machine is additionally provided with securing members 4a, 14, 15 for connecting a combination of a pump cylinder 10 and a pivot arm 9b. <IMAGE>
