NUMERICAL CONTROL METHOD AND APPARATUS

A numerical control system for a machine tool allows at least those controlled axes of the tool, which are not being controlled in an automatic operation mode for machining, to be operated in a manual operation mode or a manual data input mode for performing another task. Pref. switching devices-esp. a mixing circuit or a number of change-over contractors are provided for selectively connecting the input terminals of servo control circuits to the automatic and manual control sides resp. of the numerical control system.
