PURPOSE:To utilize the stand alone function of a central processing unit effectively by providing a data buffer memory having a large capacity to a communication controller and transmitting/receiving picture information between the communication controller and the central processing unit in the lump so as to allow the communication controller to reduce the time for monopolying the central processing unit. CONSTITUTION:A data buffer memory 111 having a capacity storing picture data for transmission/reception of one communication or one page is provided to a communication controller 11 and the picture data between the central processing unit 12 and the controller 11 is transmitted/received in the lump. Since the capacity of the data buffer memory 111 is large, the central processing unit 12 gives the picture data to be sent to the memory 111 in the lump and the picture data received by the device 11 is sent to the unit 12 in the unit of the capacity of the memory 111. Thus, the transmission/reception time of the picture data between the central processing unit 12 and the controller 11 is reduced to reduce the time monopolized by the controller 11 for the central processing unit 12.
