Compound plates consist of a core material and a unilateral or bilateral cover of high-impact non-splintering material. The surfaces of the core material receive incisions over the entire width without removing any material or producing permanent deformations. Fibre reinforced liq. unsatd. polyester or epoxy resins are applied to the surfaces and a heated press ram maintains a pressure over the cover until it is cured. USE/ADVANTAGE - This is a single-stage process for coating core materials of low compressive strength with a high-impact not-splintering cover layer. For doors, partitions and exhibition stands.
