PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient store information providing method that utilizes a mobile telephone terminal. SOLUTION: A mobile telephone base station 13 that has received merchandise data inputted by the mobile telephone terminal 12 transmits the position data of the terminal 12 and the received merchandise data to a store information server 14 connected through a communication line. The server 14 retrieves a store information database 146 based on the received position data and merchandise data to extract the nearest store that handles corresponding merchandise. The server 14 accesses the store terminal 16 of the extracted nearest store through the Internet 15 and retrieves the inventory information of the merchandise. The base station 13 notifies the telephone terminal 12 of the store information of the nearest store obtained from the server 14 and the inventory information of the merchandise.
