The filter comprises a filter body (1) maintaining the hollow fibres (9) in vertical position, the liquid to be filtered being introduced into the volume of the filter body (1) from below, the filtrate being evacuated through the filter top. The backwashing process comprises gas back-injection into the hollow fibres (9) and circulation of backwashing liquid in the volume of the filter body (1), said liquid circulation being carried out from the top downwards in the filter body.
