PURPOSE:To correct the yawing angle of a magnetic head as desired and to keep it at zero by attaching a driving device to an oscillation arm to extract the piezoelectric distortions and to turn the displacement into rotary motions. CONSTITUTION:A yawing angle correcting driver 14 consists of a piezoelectric element 15, at L-shaped elastic plate 16, a flat elastic plate 17 and a spacer 18 having uniform thickness. The voltage VE is applied to the element 15 and distortions are enlarged by elastic members 16b and 17. Then a magnetic head 23 is revolved together with a flexure 22 and a fixed block 20. In such a constitution, the positioning is possible in the submicron order just under the control of the voltage VE and therefore the yawing angle is substantially set at 0 with no generation of heat nor electrical noises. An up/down counter circuit 10 counts the number of tracks up to a target position of the head 23 by a control signal S and a CPU 9 calculates the center track NK of the zone where the target track exists and extracts the corresponding correction information out of a correction table in a memory circuit 11. This correction information is applied to the element 15 after D/A conversion 12 and amplification 13 for correction of the yawing angle. |
