PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory material for aluminum and aluminum alloys preventing permeation of molten aluminum and deposition of oxides of molten aluminum. SOLUTION: The refractory material for aluminum and aluminum alloys is prepared by incorporating fluorine compounds by 0.01 to 30 wt.% in terms of fluorine into a refractory material.
