PURPOSE:To follow a high-speed input signal by calculating in parallel the discrete cumulative values of input signals and performing a magnetic recording/ coding job. CONSTITUTION:The input signals supplied from an input signal source 11 are supplied to a coding circuit 15 and a serial/parallel converter 12. Then the circuit 12 converts the serial input signals supplied from the source 11 into 2-bit parallel signals. A comparator 13 compares the parallel outputs of the circuit 12 with each other and delivers '1' to the combination of specific values. A cumulative addition circuit 14 gives the cumulative addition to the output of the comparator 13. While the circuit 15 turns the signals supplied from the source 11 into the information words and performs a coding job with reference to the cumulative value obtained by the circuit 14. In such a constitution, it is possible to calculate quickly the discrete cumulative values of the input signals supplied from the source 11 and to cope with a high-speed input signal. In addition, the 2-bit output of the circuit 12 can be increased to the optional bit width.
