PURPOSE:To mass-produce a light beam collimator, and to obtain at low cost and high in performance by constituting the device of a mold lens provided with a recessed part having a bottom face at the position of focus of a curved face, and an optical fiber inserted and fixed in the recessed part of the mold lens. CONSTITUTION:A glass mold lens 1 is, for instance, 2mm in outer diameter and 7mm in length or thereabout, and has an aspheric face 2 and a recessed part 3. The recessed part 3 is provided on the optical axis of the glass mold lens 1, and a covered fiber 11, the tip part of which is bare fiber part 10, can be inserted to it. The covered fiber 11 inserted to the recessed part 3 is fixed by an adhesive 15. The tip of the recessed part 3 is approximately the focus position of the glass mold lens 1, and parallel light incident from aspheric face side 2 is combined efficiently with the optical fiber. |
