PURPOSE:To reduce heat generation and to realize noise reduction and low power consumption by providing a timer means which switches the number of rotation of an optical deflector automatically to a circuit which controls the rotation of the optical deflector and lowering the number of rotation a specific time later. CONSTITUTION:When a laser printer is powered on, the optical deflector 1 of the printer rotates at a low speed. When a printer start switch 4 is turned on, the control circuit 2 switches the optical deflector 1 to a specific high speed and rotates it, and the timer 3 starts. When the timer 3 enters a time-out state the specific time later and the optical deflector 1 returns to the low speed. If the printer start switch is turned on again before the timer enters the time-out state, the timer 3 enters the time-out state a specific time after the switch is turned on. Consequently, the heat generation when the optical deflector 1 is not in operation is reduced to attain the noise reduction and realize the low power consumption. |
