PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for credit card transaction authentication using a portable terminal. SOLUTION: This credit card transaction authentication system 20 which performs credit card authentication work for a VAN relay system 80 connected between a transaction approval terminal 70 which performs contactless radio identification of the portable telephone (portable terminal) 60 with a built-in transponder and an approval system 90 of a credit card company includes a process server 30 which is connected to the VAN relay system 80 and operates a site providing environment for the registration and modification of credit card information and controls a series of authentication work, an authentication engine 40 which, upon receipt of credit card authentication request data from the VAN relay system 80, extracts credit card connection information on the basis of the received authentication request data and transmits authentication data to the VAN relay system 80, and a database server 50 which stores information regarding the user of the portable telephone 60, the credit card connection information, and information on an intrinsic code of the transponder. |
