<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the titled compound useful as an agricultural chemical such as fungicide, etc., with small amount of catalyst in high yield, by reacting a benzenesulfochloride compound with a 2-chloroaniline compound under a specific condition. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound of formula III can be produced by keeping benzenesulfochlorides of formula I (X and Y are H, Cl or methyl; Z is H, Cl, trifluoromethyl, etc.) and a 2-chloroanilines of formula II (W is nitro or trifluoromethyl) at 130-200 deg.C, preferably 140-180 deg.C in the presence of an organic base catalyst (e.g. pyridine) in a solvent (preferably o- dichlorobenzene, etc.) and subjecting the mixture to condensation reaction for 3-15hr. The hydrogen chloride generated during the reaction should be discharged from the system by introducing 0.01-1.0pt.wt. of an inert gas (based on 1pt. of the compound of formula I) into the reaction liquid during the reaction. The amount of the catalyst is 0.1-1.0mol per 1mol of the compound of formula I.</p> |
