PURPOSE:To provide the title adhesive compsn. which is suitable for bonding a reinforcing fiber contained in a rubber product, such as a tire, to rubber, by blending a copolymer latex mixture of particular compsh. with a resorcinol- formaldehyde resin in particular wt. proportions. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer latex mixture comprising 50-95wt% (in terms of solid content) butadiene-styrene-vinylpyridine copolymer latex and 50-5wt% (in terms of solid content) carboxyl-modified butadienestyrene copolymer latex is provided. Then, 100pts.wt. (in terms of solid content) of the aforesaid copolymer latex mixture is blended with 10-30pts.wt. resorcinol-formaldehyde resin, thereby obtaining the title adhesive compsn. By using this compsn., a decrease in the adhesive strength of a polyester fiber with rubber after high-temp. hysteresis can be controlled, and the adhesive strength of a nylon fiber or aramide fiber to rubber is improved. |
