Device for culturing animal cell was prepd. using a silicone tube, and used for animal cell culture. The device consist of incubator (8), pump (7), and medium reservoir (6). In the incubator, silicone tubes(1) are capped at the ends with glass caps (3) having inlet (4) and outlet (5) are fixed and sealed with polyurethane (2). Thus, the device is installed within a CO2 incubator and supplied with 10% CO2 and air. A suspn. of baby hamster kidney of 0.9×106 cells/ml was inoculated into the silicone tubes (innerφ; 0.132', outerφ; 0.183', length; 19cm) and fixed on the inner surface of the tube. The medium was recycled into incubator (8) at the flow rate of 60ml/hr. cell growth was monitored by measuring the decrease of substrate.
