PURPOSE:To enable clear full-color recording of characters or images to be performed even on a general-purpose ordinary paper, by providing an ink layer comprising a sublimable or evaporable dye bound by a binder on a base film used as a base, and providing a dyeable layer to be dyed thereon. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer 2 comprising a thermally sublimable or evaporable dye bound by a binder resin used as a binder is provided on a base 3 such as a base film. A dyeable layer 4 to be dyed is provided on the ink layer 2 to constitute an ink sheet 1 for thermal transfer. The ink layer 2 comprises ink layers of three primary colors yellow 2Y, magenta 2M and cyan 2C provided divisionally at predetermined parts, and full-color images or characters can be recorded on a recording paper by performing thermal transfer sequentially in this color order. As the binder, a resin having a high property for adhesion to the base film, particularly, a polyester resin, a polyamide resin, a cellulose resin or the like is used. A material constituting the dyeable layer 4 preferably has a softening or melting point of 50-150 deg.C. |
