PURPOSE: A device and method for preventing freezing of water supply pipe of refrigerator are provided to prevent freezing of the water supply pipe by placing a heating part on a surface of the water supply pipe supplying water to an ice making bin of an automatic ice making machine. CONSTITUTION: A device includes a water supply pipe(13) made of aluminum pipe and supplying an ice making bin of a refrigerator with water through a water supply valve; a heating coil(14) placed on a surface of an outer wall of the water supply pipe; and a microcomputer controlling driving of the water supply valve and the heating coil.
