PURPOSE:To perform a changing work in a short time, by a method wherein a holder in an arbitrary address is changed between a conveyance means and a holder holding means, and a holder in an arbitrary address is changed between the holder holding means and a spindle. CONSTITUTION:Before the holder of the spent tool of a spindle 39 comes to a timing when it is changed with the holder of a tool, the holder of a desired tool is previously moved to a changing position, a holder holding means is moved by means of a first changing means 110. Thereafter, when a changing timing comes, the holder of the spent tool of a spindle 39 is changing with the holder of the desired tool of the holder holding means by means of a second changing means 120. Thus, since the holder of a tool is not changed directly between a chain 1 and the spindle 39, there is no need of waiting for changing a tool until the holder of a tool in a desired address is moved to a given posi tion. |
