The subject of the invention relates to the technical field of vehicles in general, more particularly to hitches for vehicles. This device comprises a profiled cam 1 mounted and guided under the chassis of the semi-trailer SR being rotationally and translationally guided therein by means of the pivot pin 2 of the said semi-trailer interacting with the hitching fifth wheel 3 of the towing vehicle, the said cam 1 further being configured to be rotationally driven by the towing vehicle and to interact with fixed support members 5 and 6 in order, as it moves circularly, to bring about its concomitant translational movement and consequently that of the pivot pin 2 along the longitudinal axis of the semi-trailer SR. <IMAGE>
