Self-ignition of logs. The invention relates to the fact of arranging a flammable product in the fibrous body of a piece of wood. The flammable product has the special feature of not staining, of not being toxic, of not decomposing under normal conditions of use, storage and transport, and of igniting solely in contact with a flame and/or embers. The device according to the invention is particularly intended to make it easier to employ logs when they are used in fireplaces.
