PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording sheet capable of being fed smoothly and reducing the possibility of the generation of voids or ununiformity in recorded images, by providing a receiving layer for receiving a thermally transferrable dye on one side of a base sheet, and subjecting the receiving layer to an antistatic treatment. CONSTITUTION:A receiving layer for receiving a thermally transferrable dye transferred from a coloring material layer of a thermal transfer sheet is provided on one side of a base sheet, and is subjected to an antistatic treatment. The receiving layer functions to receive an image of a sublimable disperse dye transferred from the thermal transfer sheet and to maintain the image thus received. A material for forming the receiving layer may be, for example, a polyester resin, a polyacrylate resin, a polycrbonate resin, a polyurethane resin, a polyaminde resin or a urea resin. A cationic surface active agent, an anionic surface active agent, an ampholytic surface active agent or a nonionic surface active agent can be used as an antistatic agent. By this, adhesion of dust to a thermal transfer recording sheet is prevented from occurring, so that the possibility of the generation of voids or ununiformity in recorded images is minimized. |
