PURPOSE:To cause a magnetic flux generated by armature reaction to work on a generated torque effectively by controlling power to polyphase excitation windings of stator according to a position of rotor. CONSTITUTION:A stator 1 has a stator core 4, on which a polyphase excitation winding 5 is wound, and a rotor 2 has a rotor core 7 constituted in such manner that permanent magnet poles 8 and high-permeability magnetic materials are alternately arranged on a face opposed to a stator inner peripheral face via an air gap therebetween. A position sensing means PS for detecting a position of the rotor 2 is provided, and power to polyphase excitation windings 5 of the stator 1 is controlled according to a position sensing signal of said means PS so that a magnetization of armature reaction works on the high-permeability magnetic material of the rotor 2. |
