PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent a removal of an alkaline metal plate at the connection position, by bending a long groove along a collector rod, and rotation-pressurizing between plural pressure rolls to wind the alkaline metal plate on the metallic collector rod in a cylindrical form. CONSTITUTION:An alkaline metal plate of a strip form is bent laterally in a U-shape to form a long groove 21, and after a metallic collector rod 24 is inserted in the long groove 21, the long groove 21 is bent along the collector rod 24, and rotation-pressurized between plural pressure rolls 261 to 263 to extend the upper surface of the connecting ends of the metal plate in the direction opposite to the rotation direction by the rotating friction of the pressure rolls 261 to 263. Thereby, as well as the contacting area of the alkaline metal plate is increased, an oxide produced near the connection can be removed. As a result, a removal of the alkaline metal plate wound on the metallic collector rod 24 at the connection can be prevented. |
