PURPOSE:To correct position of a magnetic head in a short time by correcting position of the magnetic head by position control information of the disk by difference voltage corresponding to estimated quantity of off-track from an objective track stored in a memory. CONSTITUTION:When shifting a magnetic head 30 to an objective track T of a magnetic disk 10, a control section 90 controls the speed of the head 30 through a motor driving circuit 60, and controls the position to an objective representative track in areas A1-A5 of the disk 10, and positions to make output voltage of a position detecting means 70 the central value of the track. Then, difference voltage corresponding to estimated quantity of off-track from an objective track in a area stored in a memory 91 is read out, and position of the head 30 is corrected by the difference voltage. Then, position control information of the disk 10 read from the head 30 by a position control information detecting circuit 80 is taken in, and position of the head 30 is corrected accurately on the objective track by the information. The difference of output voltage of the means 70 at this time and output voltage at the center of track is written in the memory 91 as new quantity of off-track. |
