The invention relates to a vehicle seat having a carrying frame 1, whose transverse members 3 and 7 serve as bracing elements for a web 6 which is stretched between them and forms an underlay, which is resilient in the manner of a trampoline, of the seat cushion. In the case of said vehicle seat, one 7 of the transverse members 3, 7 is fastened on a rocker which is mounted pivotably on the longitudinal members 4 of the carrying frame 1. By pivoting the rocker, different mutual distances of the transverse members 3 and 7 can be set, with the result that, for fitting the web 6, the transverse members 3 and 7 can be moved into a position in which they are comparatively close to one another and, for use of the carrying frame 1, they can be moved into a bracing position in which they are further apart from one another and the web 6 has the prestressing which is necessary for use.
