In the case of the flat plug socket, a conductor retaining groove is provided with the groove base in an extension of a base narrow side of the box-shaped socket body. The flat plug sockets can in consequence be arranged parallel and with the flat sides of their socket bodies closely adjacent to one another in the plug connecter housing, so that locking attachments of a flap cover of the connecter housing, which can be pivoted in on the conductor connecting side behind the socket bodies, can exert their locking influence over a relatively large locking cross-section.
