Electronic device for encouraging periodic relative motions between a first body part (27) and a second body part (22) joined by a body joint. A timing count generator (10) for generating up counts. A switch (1) responsive to a flexing motion of said joint. An action count generator (6) connected to the switch (1) for generating down action counts in response to body joint motion. An up/down counter (7) connected to said timing count generator (10) and to said action count generator (6) for accumulating said counts in a timing count accumulation in a first up direction of counting and for reducing said timing count accumulation by said action counts in a second and opposite down direction of counting. A signal connected to a preset counter such that when the up counts reach a preset number, a signal perceptible to a user will remind the user to move the body joint, thereby producing down counts and stopping the perceptible signal.
