In a method of joining the links of a crawler track, each track link comprising a pin and a bush through which a pin passes with clearance, and also two offset link cheeks directed at right angles to the bush, running along the track and in each case having two bores arranged in the end parts, of which one bore is intended for accommodating a pin end part and the other bore is intended for accommodating a bush end part, first of all only the pin end parts and then the pin and bush end parts are pressed simultaneously with an interference fit into the link-cheek bores allocated to them, in the course of which the end faces of the inserted bush, in particular via supporting rings slipped onto the pins, are supported axially against those link cheeks in which the pin end parts are fastened. The aim of the invention is to eliminate defective interference-fit connections. This is achieved when the pressure forces acting on the pin (1) and the bush (2) when pressing them in are measured and compared with empirically determined ranges (12, 13) of set-point values. <IMAGE>
