A clock of novel design incorporates both digital and analog aspects. An ''hour'' ball (42) riding a vertically oriented spiral raceway (12) is lifted in a straight line from the bottom of the outer spiral (16) to the bottom of the inner spiral (14) as the raceway rotates at the rate of one revolution per hour, its presence on a given spiral constituting a digital selection of the hour associated with that given spiral. A ''minute'' ball (60) is fixedly mounted on the raceway periphery, its rotational orientation constituting an analog selection of the minutes. |
