Car radiators, which are exposed to the air stream, constantly catch dirt particles which lodge between radiator fins. In order to prevent this, a fine-meshed wire gauze of high-grade steel is, according to the invention, firmly clamped in a metal or plastic frame and this device connected in front of the radiator. The frame can be slid into U-profile rails fixed on the vehicle and is thereby replaceable as required.
