Cyclone pressure filter with microwave dryer

The invention relates to a pressure filter combined with a microwave dryer. It is constructed to be vertical and tubular. Into its bottom opening, one filter cartridge after the other is pushed in hydraulically. The suspension fed at superatmospheric pressure is first classified by cyclone action so that the coarse particles first deposit on the filter cartridge and clear filtrate runs off. The suspension is sealed off from the interior wall of the shell tube by seal plates at each end of a filter cartridge. The seal plate diameter is greater than that of the filter cake. Pressure flushing makes the seal free from wear. As a result of further pushing of the filter cartridges, these come from the feed zone into the pressure filtration zone, the wash zone and the mechanical drying zone, at the optimum superatmospheric pressure in each case. At the top, the filter cartridges are lifted out from the filtration tube and hydraulically inserted into the thermal drying tube leading downwards. The solids filter cake is then dried by microwaves in an energy-saving and dust-free manner without large air flow rates. The dried solids are centrifuged off without residue from the filter cartridge on a rotating disc by centrifugal force and the filter cartridge is returned to the pressure filter.
