PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which is small in size and has excellent light-receiving characteristics. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device 51 comprises a laser beam source 52; a collimator lens 53; a beam splitter 54, an optical element for receiving light; a vertical deflection mirror 55; a condenser lens 56; and a light-receiving means 57. The laser beam source 52 has the first laser element 61 and the second laser element 62 which irradiate the laser beams which are each different in wavelength, respectively. The light-receiving means 57 has the first light- receiving element 71 and the second light-receiving element 72 which conform to the wavelengths of the laser beams. It is possible to read information recorded in different kinds of optical disks through one optical pickup device without enlarging the size of the optical pickup device 51 in the direction of Z, since the beam splitter 54 is not arranged between the vertical deflection mirror 55 and the optical disk 100. |
