A traffic bollard comprises a generally flat base (6) which is rectangular in plan, the base being non-square and having sides (8a, 8b) which are longer than sides (10a, 10b) by at least 50%. An edge margin (12) adjacent to the side (8b) is chamfered, and extends at a small acute angle of preferably less than 30 DEG , to the underside of the base, the margin (12) being coated with highly reflective material. The base is provided with a location slot (14), into which the stem (20) of a marker may be located, the marker having a generally triangular display area (18). The stem may be inserted into the location slot (14) and held therein by resilient means, which may be released by foot pressure against a release means on the base. The base is provided with location means, conveniently provided by a male formation (22) on one side (10a) and a female formation (24) on the side (10b) whereby a number of similar bases may be located adjacent to one another in a manner such as to ensure generally alignment, but preferably but not a exact fit, to enable adjacent bases to be relatively articulated to a small extent. <IMAGE> |
