PURPOSE:To shorten the engine overall length by forming a feed passage for a water pump attached to the front center of a cylinder block of a V-engine between frontmost cylinders in the cylinder block on the far side from the front. CONSTITUTION:A V-engine has left and right hand side banks 2, 3 disposed in the form of V, and a water pump 21 is directly attached to the center of the front side 4a of its cylinder block 4, its pump pulley 22 being driven by a crank pulley 19 via a transmission belt 20. A coolant feed passage to the water pump 21 is formed in the cylinder block 4 on the far side (bank 2 side) from the front side 4a and between the front side 4a and a frontmost cylinder 34 near to the front side 4a. |
