PURPOSE:To attain tape selection, by taking out a tape automatically, or performing error displaying, when it is decided that a signal is not recorded by a first signal recording format, according to the difference of frequency spectrum between the first signal recording format, and a second signal recording format. CONSTITUTION:The signal from an amplitude limitation circuit is received from an input terminal 11, and the detection of a DC level in the signal is performed by a band-pass filter 12, and a detection circuit 13, and it is compared with a reference voltage generated by voltage division by resistors 14 and 15, and the DC level is discriminated. At such a time, the signal from a control head 6 is received from an input terminal 16, and a timing signal is generated by an amplifier 17, and a monostable multivibrator 18, and the AND of the output of a comparator 20, and the timing signal is taken at an AND gate 19, and a discrimination signal is issued to a system control circuit 21. According to the above signal, it is possible to select and reproduce only the tape recorded by the signal recording format possible to be reproduced, by taking out of the tape, or performing the error display automatically. |
