PURPOSE:To make it possible to clearly form an image on a receiving paper without requiring a transfer film and without causing any lowering in density even in continuous printing, by providing a thin dye layer on a gas-permeable film by using a nozzle for jetting a sublimed or evaporated dye. CONSTITUTION:A casing 1 is provided with a heating member 2, jet nozzles 3 and 3', a sublimable or evaporable dye 4, a thermal head 5, a gas-permeable film 6 and a support frame 7. The heating member 2 is used for gasifying the sublimable or evaporable dye 4, and the nozzles 3, 3' are used for jetting the gasified dye to the gas-permeable film 6. The gas-permeable film 6 causes the dye gas jetted from the nozzles 3, 3' to be adhered thereto in the state of being changed back to a solid or liquid, whereby a thin dye film 8 is formed. Then, a thermal head 5 is brought into contact with the thin dye film 8, whereby a clear image free of lowering in density can be formed on a receiving paper. |
